We are convinced that what we offer as a rainforest experience is unique in all the world. We have been refining our skills toward providing this ultimate experience, deep in primary forest of Ecuador, in its Amazon Jungle, for over 22 years. Our staff will become your family. And we will bring out the sensuous from our forest from our food from everything around you until you feel like you've never felt before. Our motto says it all: “in the jungle anything is possible…” Believe it.
La Selva Jungle Lodge comes of a native design: rustic, authentic and comfortable. The lodge can be described as private bungalows that are cozy and immaculately clean. The bungalows at La Selva Jungle Lodge are made entirely of secondary rainforest materials and are designed to blend with Ecuador's Jungle.
Each bungalow has a private bathroom, a hammock and a mosquito net in each bed. The unexpected amenities such as hot water showers will delight you. And everything at the lodge is sanitary beyond your wildest expectations.
La Selva is comprised of 17 thatched-roofed bungalows with many different sleeping configurations, a spacious but cozy bar with a wrap-around view of our gorgeous lake, and a grand dining room, also with a cone-shaped gigantic, thatched roof.

Our Guides: It is not enough to be extremely knowledgeable about the tropical biosphere to guide with us. La Selva's culture requires the ability to demonstrate a genuine passion for the natural world and the need to conserve it. Our guides are not boring lecturers on these themes they merely create awareness. They also have the ability with their native tracker to find all the animals within reach of you, make you laugh, marvel, wonder.
To get a feeling for where you are headed, imagine a tranquil country: Ecuador, and to the east deep in a rainforest of an unparalleled biodiversity, in the sensuous Amazon Basin, a lodge, a paradise that is located on Garzacocha Lake, the Heron Lake.
La Selva is about sixty miles downriver from the the town of Coca which has a wild west atmosphere (which we whisk you through) and serves as the main base for the defiantly destructive oil industry which La Selva, after many pitched battles to limit their exploration, has managed to ward off from our nature preserve. Here, at the Napo river's edge you board one of our launches
Two hours later, passing primitive huts and riverine landscapes (along with oil barges) you arrive at our dock. Then a half mile boardwalk of bamboo slats keeps you above a vast mysterious palm swamp as you make your way to the lake.
The boardwalk ends at Garzacocha Lake where paddle canoes await you to take you across.
A quarter mile along, La Selva Jungle Lodge begins to peek out at you. It is your first expedition of discovery in what will be a vacation filled with marvel and wonder
