Ecuador’s sun shines for everyone ®
The Amazon Region with it’s rivers of dark waters are home to pink river dolphins, turtles of all sizes, little caimans when canoeing in these rivers in the North Jungle. The Ecuadorian “Oriente” or jungle has always been an inspiration for legends and mysteries.
In 1541 Spanish “conquistador” Francisco de Orellana undertook an expedition to this marvelous region with its extraordinarily jungle air, diverse flora, thousands of species of orchids with the most varied appearances, centennial trees covered with lianas or plants with medicinal qualities, more than 1500 species of birds and more than 2000 species of butterflies, insects and invertebrates. The Oriente is one of Ecuador’s major treasures of incalculable ecological value.
